Caught Dan Crying To How Soon Is Now By The Smiths
How sad is this? I came home from Church last night and Dan was lying on my bed, weeping his heart out to The Smiths track “How Soon Is Now”. I asked him what the hell he thought he was playing at but he wouldn’t respond, he had his head buried underneath the sheets. I could hear him weeping though!
Anyway I went over to him and pulled the sheets off and he was curled up in the foetal position, rocking back and forth. He eventually told me that he had went to the Palace again and had left at 1o:30 because no-one would talk to him, so he came back to mine and put on Meat Is Murder.
He tried to explain to me how important “How Soon Is Now” was to him. He kept playing back that line “So you go and you stand on your own, and you leave on your own and you go home and you cry and you want to die” in the song. He became frustrated when I called Morrissey a poncey geek. It was the first time I’d ever seen pure rage in his eyes. Anyway, he told me that he had tried to suffocate himself with my bedclothes but he couldn’t go through with it because he needed a glass of water. I don’t really know what his problem is at all, surely if you’re going to kill yourself you won’t be that fussed about having a glass of water?
I think I might have a chat with his Mother soon. I’m hoping to God that she isn’t a complete nutbar too.
