Ok, I’m not going to randomly swear and insult like I have Turret’s or something. I’m going to make sense. (at least for the emo portion)
First off, when did depression become cool? In fact, it isn’t which is the point of emo, because it is like an outcast of society, even goths reject. So emo by definition is not cool, if it was it would not mean anything anymore. If you are sad enough where you cry everynight, you must discover why you are sad, and instead of crying about it, make it better. We have 1 life, don’t waste it crying. Waste it happy.

Second, no emo EVER is allowed to say “No one understands me” “I’m finding my individuality and trying to be me” or anything like that. For the understanding part, that is crap. Myspace, Livejournal, MSN, AOL, ICQ, and yes, even in person- these are all methods to communicate with someone else, if someone doesn’t understand you, then you haven’t explained, and if you can’t explain it, you need to sit down and think to figure out what it is, because once you figure it out in your head, you can explain it cuz you just explained it to yourself while thinking about it. You can even talk to other emos or your friends because they will listen to you regardless of if they get you or not.
As for the individuality, you dress the same as every other emo, and you listen to the same music, write the same style of poetry (if you do write it), same haircuts, everything. It’s a style, individuality is impossible in style. No rapper (gangster), skater, goth, emo, or any other group are individual, the only part of them that is unique is the part that is not within the style. The part that is actually you.
Thirdly, I’m going to point out XxDeadlyRosesxX up there as an example, no personal attack, I don’t know you, but you happen to have done this and you are guilty by association.
Not all emos do this, I’m not even sure if it is only an emo thing, maybe other people do it too, but I have only seen it with emo people. You Don’t Need To Capitalize Every Word In Your Sentences. We all know how grammar works, we all know when to use capitals. People aren’t stupid and need to know where the start of every word is, we dont need a big letter as a mark. While talking about spelling and shit, Jenna up there said “thiings rlly hurt them so they cryy abouh iit ,, huu dusnt!?” ….That is barely a language. Only 4 words out of 11 are right, and never is there a need for 2 commas. Come on, it’s not an emo thing, but seriously, are you in such a rush that you can’t take the time to look at what you said?
Fourthly, suicide is also NOT COOL. Going all the way with suicide is never poetic, justified, honorable (this differs between cultures I suppose), or cool. Sure Romeo and Juliet were in love, depressed they could never be together, and they killed themselves. Romantic, sure some people will say that, but the play was a tragedy, and that’s what suicide is and always will be. If you want to cry for attention, break every plate in the house. Walk around naked. Run away. Learn to unicycle, juggle, sing, and blink the national anthem in mores code, all at the same time. You will definitely get attention. Attempt suicide for attention is not a choice that should be considered.
I won’t comment on clothes, wear what you want, it’s all good. Music style? Personal taste, do what you want. Poetry? Some is deep, some is garbage that is basically like “who can be sadder contest”.

Hmm…I don’t have a problem with emo people, exactly. If you would like to put yourself in a category, that is your own affair, and categories and stereotypes help people put the world into an order that they can comprehend. My only objection to being emo or goth or what-have-you is that occasionally people use the stereotype to spout world-weary nonsense that just comes over as cliched and false. I suppose goth and emo people could really see some sort of tragic beauty in the world, but the language they use to describe it seems overused and insincere. I agree with Ace there were alot of diverse veiws in that post. But still… I believe that “emo” is a big sterotype. Everyone becomes emo to be able to call themselves “emo”. Now, the ones who are really emo deny being emo and probably don’t even realise that they are emo. The world is full of pousers who are just confused and don’t know who they are. But the one group of people (real emos) who actually know who they are get spammed and put down, beat up and reidculed just because of how they dress and look. emos are cool, i dont get why people think we are so bad, we may be different but isn’t it the person on the inside that counts, we show our depressio0n through our as ppl say “suicidal” nature which is just more self-harming than suicide but the only reason is if we talked to someone would they listen?
and sometimes words cant describe how we are feeling..
i have a lot of friends who accept me for who i am not what i am
and for ppl saying that we are stupid n shit needa get a lyf,
i just dont see why people are so insulting, we never have done anything to them,, so why..

To all emo haters.. leave them alone you dont even know how they lived and how did they encounter their life.. Imagine a guy (emo) who is alone with no one else to take care of him. They are people to but a different life. Just imagine if you were in that situation where you dont have any family nor friends. Emo’s try to be friend to other people but other people dont accept them because they think that they are different and they might just kill themselves. Be friend with them and help them remember they are also peoples who have problems like you but more difficult.

Uhm..alright.”Emos” are people. “Goths” are people. I searched “Emo Sayings” on google, and came across this.. Why did I search Emo Sayings? Well, because my friend and I were stumped on some quotes for a roleplay we were making. So don’t be judgemental.
2nd. People beating down emo’s, and goth’s and what not.. you’re stupid. You really truly are. if you waste your time trying to bring someone down, who’s already down enough, then how stupid can someone be? whatever.
3rd. sayings are sayings. People make them up in their head randomly. Some people scream them when their driving down the road.. they just come out of no where. Some people but some sayings in the emo catagory.. others put it in different. But because someone makes an “emo” quote.. doesn’t neccesarily mean their emo.
4th. Now a note to you Emo people.. Saying “I wish someone would put a bullet in my head!” When that bullet gets put in your head, I don’t think you’re going to be so anxious for it as you thought. Now saying, “I can never find a building tall enough for me to jump off of.” Yea.. you’re just stalling your own death. And one day you could be just standing somwhere up high, and some dude shoves you off. BAM. Better than nothing?
5th. Don’t say “There’s no help for me” because, there is. It’s called Church.. if you’re atheist.. it’s called happy pills.. if you don’t believe in pills, it’s called believeing in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself.. believe in someone else. if there’s no one else to believe in.. then you really need to just sit down and think. “Do I really want to die so soon in life, that I’d be willing to die early for it?” and don’t say Yes right off of the bat. if you do, then you’re obviously not trying to change. And you’re not trying to help yourself. So you’re not Emo.. just self conceited.
6th. I’m a “Emo” as people would call it, I guess. Yes I do have suicidal thoughts, but I do try and stop myself from thinking that way. If my life was ment to be wasted, I wouldv’e have been created. Some people call my theroy “Clincally Depressed”,”Depressed”,”Emo”. In school, I’m the “Emo Goth Girl.” because I’m quiet and I like the color black.
so if that’s how people are going to be, then let them be that way. But us “Goths” and us “Emos” Need to stick together.
7th. Go find another Emo if you feel as if no one understands you. I bet you they will.
This wasn’t to beat down anyone. But when people read it, I hope it gets through to them. And if you’re going to just give it hate, you’re waisting your time.. because I won’t be coming back to this website.

ok first off… im emo/goth… so i know about the whole cutting/over dosing thing and being depressed,the crying over everything, the tight jeans and scremo sorta style, and hating life and everything that comes with it…but seriously…
if people wanna get on here and share their life stories about why the cut or cry or od or act like they act… no one has a right to judge them… im not gonna make this sound text book but we had someone come to our school and they basically told us stories about all these kids and stuff… people cover up who they are or use styles to express themselfs… let them… because you know what? you sit here judging every person but if you seriously walked a mile in someone elses shoes… you sit here and judge people but none of you guys really know anything about the other person… so if ur gonna sit here and throw your whole splur about how “emos ar fags” or “if your emo why dont you just kill yourself already?!?!” its a bunch of bs… in case you havent realized it yet… emos can smile, goths arent always poor… so you should get over it because guess what!!!
